Business planning
The modern business environment is complex, demanding and aggressive.  There is no end to the red tape that businesses must comply with.  Product life cycles are getting shorter and shorter and customer expectations are ever increasing.  However, with a combination of patience, hard work and wise counsel, successful businesses have emerged even in these most daunting of environments.

We have been providing practical support and realistic advice to growing businesses and busy professionals for many years.  Unlike other accountants we don't just offer a few words of wisdom when we meet you to get your tax return signed or when we finalise the audit.

Moreover we like to think we provide a proactive service throughout the course of the business cycle, grounded in a thorough understanding of your personal and business objectives.

Remember, we offer all prospective clients a free consultation in confidence, and without any further commitment from you.  So feel free to pick up the phone and call us - 020 8527 6912.

Fund raising, Banking introductions & Bank Facility Reviews
The relationship with your bank is critical to your success.  Proper banking facilities are often not granted as the client has not made clear to the bank their business model.  In other instances clients are with banks that have no interest or expertise in their business.

We have extensive experience in matching clients to the right bank and arranging suitable finance facilities.  Briefly the service includes:

  • Preparation of business plans and financial projections that the bank require

  • Matching your business to the bank with relevant industry knowledge

  • Identifying the most appropriate finance facility

  • Negotiating the bank facilities and facility terms

  • Ongoing communication with bankers as required

  • Reviewing historical interest and charges for reasonableness

We will help you to provide answers to the "hard" questions bankers will ask and we will assist in completing negotiations to a successful conclusion.

Company secretarial
Company directors need to be fully aware of their responsibilities and be fully compliant with all the various regulations.

The consequences of breaching company law may include damage to reputation among business contacts and having the case dealt with in the courts with all its related legal costs.

Our company secretarial service can assist company directors with all aspects of their company secretarial responsibilities.  Clients regularly outsource their company secretarial filing obligations to us as they know that we will meet these obligations on a timely basis.

Company Secretarial Consulting

The legal structure of a business is often the last issue to be addressed when devising business plans.  A number of years later, however, problems may arise in the form of significant tax liabilities, onerous filing obligations or restrictions in relation to the making of distributions.

Understanding that forward planning on this issue may avoid untold problems further down the road, we provide clients with a broad range of consultancy services in this area.

Management accounts
We tailor and flex management formats and reports to the unique perspectives of the client’s business, including graphs and analytical review commentary, to keep all parties in tune with its health and future prospects, including profitability and cash flow.

In the light of the critical value to decision-makers of up-to-date information, monthly management accounts can become a necessity.

Third quarter management accounts enable scrutiny and interrogation of the results for commercial and tax planning purposes while there is time to take decisive action before the end of the trading year.

We regularly attend client meetings where these management accounts are discussed.

Payroll
Confidentiality as regards staff pay levels means that more and more firms are asking us to carry out this aspect of their bookkeeping.  Some clients outsource their company wide payroll while others ask us to only look after their directors and senior managers.

Even if you only have a few employees, you will make savings by engaging us to administer your payroll.

Statutory accounts
As with most accountancy firms, the preparation and audit of our clients' financial statements is the backbone of our business.  Where we believe we differentiate ourselves from the competition, is by the feedback we offer our clients.

We start with an opening premise that clients spend 90% of their time thinking about today's business demands and their future business plans with maybe 10% of their time reminiscing about the past.

Therefore, while we will carry out a rigid statutory audit (where an audit is required) on your historical financial results, we will also identify the issues (with realistic solutions) that you will need to consider going forward including:

  • Are the assumptions behind your budgets realistic given historical results?

  • Are existing controls and procedures appropriate?

  • Does the quality of your management accounts and accounting records allow you to make informed decisions?

  • Your business may be profitable but does it take too long to convert debtors into cash and what are the possible options to correct the situation?

  • Growth and profitability can bring their own problems - have you the capital to expand the business and are overheads going out of control?

Tax
Whilst the rates at which income and corporate taxes are applied have declined from the penal levels of the 1990s, the Revenue Commissioners have in turn become more stringent in the application of interest and penalties on errant taxpayers.

Our taxation services are designed ensure you are always compliant with Revenue legislation and over the long run ensure you pay the minimum amount of tax subject to your personal and business circumstances.

In delivering our service we ensure

  • You have clarity as to what particular taxes you are liable for.

  • You have certainty as when the amount of tax owed is due for payment.

  • You get early warning of changes in tax law that we believe may affect your affairs.

  • You are advised on "good housekeeping" to mitigate the chances of a revenue audit investigation.

Tax Planning - a long-term approach
We take a long-term approach to tax planning, taking consideration of your personal and business circumstances.  There is limited merit in purchasing "tax designated" properties if they don't attract tenants to fund the mortgage.  On the other hand there may be merit in incorporating a growing business to take advantage of low corporation tax rates.  In all cases, we will take into account your overall commercial and personal objectives and provide solutions that are tailored to meet your needs and circumstances.
